A. Information You Provide Directly

We collect Personal Information from you when you register or create an account on our Site. The Personal Information we collect directly from you includes:

  • Password — Stored as a one-way cryptographic hash. We never store or transmit your plaintext password.

We do not collect your first name, last name, phone number, date of birth, or physical address. We do not store or retain credit card or other billing information. Any online payments are processed by our third-party payment processor and are governed by that processor’s separate privacy policy.

B. Information Collected Through Your Use of the Site

(i) Information Collected Automatically

Unlike most websites, BackflowTech does not log or store IP addresses. We do not collect precise geolocation data. Standard server logs may capture browser type, device type, operating system, and the pages you view, solely for the purposes of diagnosing technical issues and maintaining service security.

(ii) Analytics Information

We use analytics tools to understand aggregate usage patterns and improve the Service. All analytics data is anonymized and aggregated. We implement Consent Mode: if you decline analytics tracking when prompted, no tracking cookies or identifiers are set and no behavioral data is collected about your session. You may change your consent choice at any time using the cookie preference controls in the site footer.

Regardless of your consent status, we never collect or store your IP address. All analytics data we collect is anonymized and aggregated and cannot be used to identify you as an individual.

VI. Third-Party Services

We use a limited number of vetted third-party services to operate BackflowTech. We may provide your Personal Information to the following categories of service providers:

  • Payment processor — Handles subscription billing. Receives your payment details directly — we never see or store full card numbers.
  • Analytics provider — Receives anonymized, aggregated usage data only if you have consented via Consent Mode.
  • Hosting & infrastructure — Servers and databases hosted with reputable cloud providers under data processing agreements.

We may also disclose Personal Information to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to protect the rights, property, or safety of BackflowTech or its users; or in connection with a sale, assignment, or transfer of all or a portion of our business or assets, in which case Personal Information may be transferred to the acquiring party.

VII. Data Retention

We retain your account data (email address and hashed password) for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your Personal Information is removed from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial records related to a subscription) or necessary to resolve an active dispute or enforce our agreements.

Anonymized analytics data, which cannot be linked back to you, may be retained indefinitely for aggregate reporting purposes.

VIII. Protection of Your Personal Information

We implement reasonable technical and organizational security measures to maintain the safety of your Personal Information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), one-way hashed password storage, and access controls limiting who on our team may access user data. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and forms part of BackflowTech’s Terms of Use. Please also review our Terms of Use, which establish the use, disclaimers, and limitations of liability governing use of the Site. By using the Site, you consent to our Terms of Use. In the event of any conflict between this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use, this Privacy Policy shall control with respect to matters of data privacy.

We reserve the right — and may be required — to change this Privacy Policy at any time. Please refer to the date at the top of this page to determine when this Policy was last revised. Any changes to our Privacy Policy will become effective upon posting of the revised policy on the Site. By continuing to use the Site and Services following such changes, you will be deemed to have agreed to such changes.

XIV. Severability

If a court having competent jurisdiction declares any provision of this Privacy Policy invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be removed or limited to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions of this Privacy Policy shall remain in full force and effect.
